The Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that, effective from midnight of 23rd June 2023, the revocation of Unique Document Identification Numbers (UDINs) can be done within 48 hours of their generation. This update allow members to revoke UDINs if desired, but only within the specified time frame. Authorities, regulators, banks , and others verifying the authenticity of UDINs will be informed that revocation is possible within the 48 hour window.
